About Log Entries

ProbeView records an entry in its log for every significant event.  It only remembers the last few hundred entries, removing the oldest entries when necessary.

Log entries are listed from the newest (top) to the oldest (bottom).

Viewing Log Entries

Each log entry has a "time stamp" (date and time of occurrence), a status field (indicated by a color bar on the left) and some text.

The status values run from red (very important) to black (unimportant).  You can set the level of detail you want to see using the "log detail level" slider in the Options page.  Please note that this setting does not affect the data that ProbeView keeps; it only changes what data you see on the Log page.

The text message associated with each log entry may occasionally be lengthy.  You can scroll the text in the individual entries.

Saving Your Logs

On the Settings page you can touch the Menu button and choose "View Details".  On that page, you can use its menu button to convert the log entries to text and copy them to the pasteboard (clipboard).  Then you can email them to yourself or others.
